Gmail Breaks Blank Canvas Add-on Again

Sign in to your Gmail account this morning and find that none of your email signature profiles work.

The great work carried out by the Blank Canvas add-on, is stopped in one sweep by Gmail's update this morning with its 'create mail' now being a button and not a link. Really why can't we chose which release of Gmail we use. I've been really happy with the set-up as it was and then this comes in causing a monstrous amount of work for many people.

Hopefully the clever guys at Blank Canvas can solve the problem and let us get back to emailing without having to jump through loops.

And maybe in the future, before new releases are brought in, there could be a little consultation with clients as to what they want.

  1. The new Gmail update allows you to add different signatures for each email address you manage, thus replacing that aspect of the Blank Canvas add-on.

  2. The new Gmail update allows you to add different signatures for each email address you manage, thus replacing that aspect of the Blank Canvas add-on. Just go to the "Settings" page. Granted Blank Canvas had more functionality, but this might be a solution for many users.

  3. The GMail Team should be embarrassed that they broke such a popular plugin as BlackCanvas Gmail Signatures. This should be a default feature for Gmail anyway.

Hey GMail Team why don't you help Jerome from BlackCanvas Signature fix this!!! ASAP!

    Peace.

  4. I'm intrigued by the 'Gmail update allows you to add different signatures' - I've been in settings and can't see anything.

Either way, with such a popular add-on, wouldn't it be better if Gmail gave users the choice to accept or refuse this or any update.

  5. Okay, I've gone to 'settings' in Gmail and yes there is an option for adding different signatures to different email accounts.

But there is no HTML option, so the signatures look a mess.

If Gmail thought this was going to do be a better option than what was already available: i.e Blank Canvas, then why didn't they make sure of it before launching an inferior product.

  6. Another issue is that Blank Canvas allow us to have multiple signatures to the same email account. I have one signature for my closer friends and another for other friends in my gmail account...
